The Frenchtown High School Bands would like to request your sponsorship or a charitable donation toward their music program. As we all know, music is an enriching part of culture and many people’s lives. These kids all love music, and they put their heart into it. Four years ago, the band director took the Frenchtown Band to Disneyland’s “Magic Music Days” festival in Southern California, where they performed in the park and participated in a music-oriented workshop and clinic. It was a great learning opportunity and such a wonderful experience—the kids will remember it the rest of their lives! The trip was so successful and rewarding that this year’s students have been working hard toward attending the same festival in early 2014.
        We are extremely proud of our students and cannot begin to express enough how far this high school band has come. Every year, the kids participate in District Music Festival, where they have consistently earned “Superior” ratings and are continuously complimented on how well-mannered they are. We feel that an effective music program provides a sense of belonging for students and creates a sense of pride, not only for the students, but for the school and community. Our band director has encouraged the kids to explore new musical ideas that could lead to bigger and greater opportunities and possibilities for the kids. Many of these students will continue to keep music as a large part of their lives.
      Many of the band kids are also involved in other programs, such as the National Honor Society, 4H Clubs, and athletics, and some have jobs. They are managing their GPAs and balancing their other activities with their commitment and dedication to the music program. Frenchtown is a relatively small community dedicated to supporting our kids. We have put together a Frenchtown band parents’ organization, the F# Club, to assist in fundraising for instruments, repairs, sheet music, and participation in music festivals and band trips..
